2017-2018
Oak Hills High School is dedicated to providing a variety of educational opportunities that are rigorous and promote secondary education. The College Credit Plus Program affiliated with Cincinnati State College is an opportunity for Oak Hills students to achieve both high school and college credit for English.
Students who earn a 3 or better on the AP English Language and Composition or the AP English Literature and Composition Exam can receive credit for both high school and college (CCP/dual credit). Those students can then take Eng Comp 2: Tech Communication for both high school and college. This credit is transferable to most colleges or universities (check Transferology to see how your credit transfers).
Eng Comp 2: Tech Communication is one semester long and will count toward three total quarter hours of college-level English.
In order to be considered for enrollment in the course, each student must commit to and meet the following expectations:
Academics
Parental Support
Active parental involvement is critical to a student’s success in the learning process and the College Credit Plus experience. In order for students to experience success in the program, each parent must commit to meet the following expectations:
Please read, sign, and return this agreement.
I understand and agree to the requirements and expectations of this course. Furthermore, rewrites will only be accepted after discussing them with Mrs. Jenemann. I understand that the final quarter project—the final report and oral presentation of the report—is REQUIRED to pass the course.
I also understand that this journey is one that will prepare me for college, writing on the job, and other real-world writing situations. I promise Mrs. Jenemann, my parent(s), and most importantly, myself to try everything that I am shown and taught. I will submit only my own work because I know that I am worth more than cheating or copying someone else’s words and ideas. And finally, I will work IN class to help others as well to learn more about writing by positively and honestly participating in team writing situations and peer review while always respecting myself and others.
Our signatures indicate our commitment to meet the expectations established in this contract. Please return the entire contract to Mrs. Jenemann; you have access to this contract on Weebly for your own records.
